    * A note on the selection of the prize winner. After putting a grumpy toddler to bed and doing ten thousand other things, I rushed in from the grocery store this evening and sat down to finish the carnival. Nearly everything was done. I handed my spouse a list of this week's participants and asked him to select a winner randomly. I expected him to close his eyes and stab the paper with a pencil to choose the winner, or maybe just pick out a name he found interesting. Instead, he created a selection system that was "truly random" using a deck of cards. It took a long time and I got just a little bit impatient, but I can assure you that this week's winner selection was Truly. Random.
