Watch out, Prosper is habit-forming

Let's see a show of hands--how many of you think you might be just a tiny bit hooked on the internet? How 'bout on money-related sites in particular? Throw in a social networking flavor, and I'm sunk.

Prosper is still my favorite new toy. If I'm not checking to see if any of my group members have a new loan listing, I'm checking to see if any of my borrowers have made a loan payment. And when I'm bidding on a loan, it's even worse. Prosper does send out-bid notices, but the lag time is such that the listing is often closed before I get the out-bid notice and log in to bid again. So I find myself checking the site three or four times a day when I'm bidding, just to make sure I'm not getting outbid.

Right now, I'm in no danger of getting out bid. In fact, the loan listing I'm bidding on is still only 57% funded, and it expires in about 17 hours. If the entire loan isn't funded, the listing gets scrapped. Things aren't looking too good for this listing.

The suspense is killing me!

But I'm going to bed. I have three houseguests arriving tomorrow. I need my beauty rest.
